Very realistic goal. Best way is to keep yourself busy on those occasions when you would otherwise be out spending money. Give yourself a night out a week so you don't go stir-crazy, but avoiding the temptation to party is half the battle. |

I had laser eye surgery here done for 1.75 million won in Gangnam. You don't have to worry about the doctor sneezing because the whole operation is done by a machine. The doctor doesnt do much more than press the buttons on a computer that does all the measuring, cutting and of cuorse the laser.
Saving money in Seoul is the easiest especially if your not lazy. Its easy to find a second job to add to your visa in the mornings at a kindergarten. So making over 4 million a month is easy and, legal if your not into doing privates. |

It should be very easy to save that much per year. You just need to stay out of the bars and off the telephone calling home.
In fact, you should be able to save considerably more than 9 million.
And Korea is just fine. Don't pay too much attention to the complainers on this board. You can find them in any country.....even at home. Ignore them. |

| It is easy to. I save at least a million won a month and still travel to Thailand or the Philippines 4 times a year. |

If you do not do privates but only living from your own salary of 2.x milion per month and explore other things that life has to offer except working for money its is not possible (travel, see the country, enjoy good food with high quality ingredients, learn something new language or something, go out, etc). Because that means 50% of your salary will have to be saved, which doesn't leave much for living....unless you like instant cup ramyeon and stay clear from foie gras. |

So it's legal to have more than one job in Korea? I could work at a hakwon at night and work at a kindie school in the day - both full time? Is it only privates that are illegal?
The wife and I have just had a kid so extra money would come in handy. |

I am not an expert, but as far as I know your visa is sponsored to a certain employer. That is how you got it. I am not sure if you can work for another employer with it. I think your foreign ID card also has name of the employer on it.
Maybe I am wrong though - check it. |

All of it is illegal. At least on an E2 visa. You'll have to ask the married folks about the spousal visa.... assuming you're married to a Korean |

| Thought it was illegal. Shame, I don't mind working more for more cash. |
