My username comes from "Neuromancer' by Willima Gibson.
The Panther Moderns were mercenaries for hire but took their jobs as elaborate practical jokes. I see the Korean ESL industry as an elaborate practical joke thus I do not take my own posts too seriously and rail against those who do.

When I was dumb and young I liked to hack computers-don't worry Dave, I'd never touch this board and you know that because I don't cloak my ip address when I come here. I know that I'm getting old because I haven't even done a traceroute on this site, something I always used to do a couple of years ago on any site I went on. Besides, I know hacking is something that can draw jail time and the closest I want to come to being in a cell is a Korean hagwon excuse for an apartment.
Now that I'm old and not bold, I merely use my skills to help friends recover lost files, install firewalls, and build simple web sites etc.
BTW since returning to Canada for a few weeks I have discovered a new TV show called Hack. I thought about suing them for using my name but when I watched it, I realized it won't be around for long. |

That's the one with the cabbie who is also a vigilante, played by the guy from St. Elsewhere? Watched 10 min.- you're right, it blows.
The TV that has really fascinated me since I've been back has been on TLC (except Malcolm in the Middle; how can you not like a show where TMBG does the theme?)- edu channels have really gotten a face-lift since I last saw them. Junkyard wars, whoo-hah! |

| You all have such neat reasons for your names I feel quite dowdy!!! I was replying on Daves board a long time ago and used the name as a way of pointing out I "had been here years". It fitted - since I have been here years and I've kinda used it in many situations since then. |

Um, gee, it's really not hard at all to guess what my pals call me in my walking-around life ... just now realized I might have to use a false name to introduce myself to people if I go that get-together being planned in Shincheon March 1, otherwise way to easy to guess my handle. (sigh) Never occurred to me such might be a problem when I chose this thing.
Yeah, it's sort of spurred by that "copy guy" character Rob Schneider used to do on SNL.

I have a private rooftop park just outside my window with gardens, benches, and walking paths coupled with wireless LAN so that I can sit outside, relax, type, and cruise the Internet all at once. Oh, plus listen to MP3s streamed off the server.
