It would seem so. Yesterday he proposed a constitutional amendment creating a two-term system of presidency, as in the U.S. Frankly, it's not bad idea, but coming from him at this time, when his popularity has dropped almost completely off the chart, this move just reeks of desperation and everyone saw right through it immediately.

You dug your own grave, Roh. R.I.P.

Hopefully when the GNP comes into power they'll ship them all off to N. Korea so they can finally suck Kim Jong Il's mini-sub like they've always wanted.

So what's he supposed to do? Nothing??? His ratings actually have gone up slightly due to this and more than half of the citizens support him on this.

The conservative media, mainly the newspapers, tries just so much to portray him as a failure. Trust me; South Korea has had far, far worse presidents in the past and their ratings were never so low. Get it? You can't blame the media for everything, but the media is how the people hear about politics and politicians.

Check this out, will ya:

Basically, he can't say anything without somebody distorting whatever he says. He's no Abraham Lincoln, but he has not been THAT bad. And he's a beggar compared to President "Bling-Bling" Bush.

Yet Bush has something Roh fundamentally lacks: BALLS. Low hanging, knock-you-in-the-back-of-the-head-and-throw-you-into-the-bed-of-my-pickup -and-dump-your body-in-a-ravine-in-the-desert, BALLS.

Name one. DJ? I will guarantee you even Chun with his T-K faction had more support, numerically, than this current turkey.

Right, and Bush is brilliant, but the media is how people hear about politics and politicians.

All I have to say is that this guy is a piece of work. Calling himself "conflict friendly", this apparent statesman has no signs of going out with a whimper. You think some people would just know when to keep quiet.

I've seen a guy jump into a camp fire because he had "balls." What you call balls, most other people would call stupidity, ignorance or "something to prove." If Bush had balls, he wouldn't push political protestors over a mile away from his speeches or attempt to take away Constitutionally guaranteed freedoms from American citizens.

A couple of Koreans I know have blamed his age on his poor performance, I assumed from his youthful (cosmetically altered) appearence that he was in his early 50s. But according to t'internet he was born in 1946. (Same age as Bush, older than Blair or Abe).

If many people think he failed because he was too young, I wouldn't fancy the chances of Park Geun-hye or Chung Dong-young who are babies compared to their presidential rivals.

No

It's just that the sleazy, opportunistic methods he used to get elected don't fly with the public anymore.

...

Hey! He IS kinda like Bush!
