|
|
Hi all,
I'm looking at putting together a group of people to meet once a week to play a little pick up hockey without gear. Just skates and sticks....(gloves and helmets would be a good idea as well though).
I've got 5 or 6 people already interested. If you want in please PM me with your name and contact info.
If you need skates and sticks or any other equipment let me know and I'll see if I can hook up some deals if we buy together.
I'm thinking I'd like to have this on the go by early October but the sooner the better in my opinion.
I'm going to look into costs and ice time availability as soon as possible. The rink in Omogkyo (Near Mokdong) seems to be the most likely spot at the moment. If anyone would like to suggest another spot or has any info on prices or who to contact at any of the rinks please let me know!
Keep your stick on the ice!

I'll play! I've got skates but will need to buy a stick and gloves (helmet?). Perhaps, you can help with that. Don't sweat it though, I'll buy them off the net if need be.
I've been skating occasionally in Bun-dang a satellite city of Seoul with a few friends who live there. It's a nice well maintained rink with lines for zones and all that. I have seen Koreans in hockey equipment there. So, maybe theyll allow others to organize and play games there as well.
I'll try to get the phone number of the place if you think it's a better location for everyone else. Im willing to travel to Omogkyo (Near Mokdong) to play though. |

you know that I'm rediscovering my canadian accent this whole idea of ice hockey sounds rather appealing (perhaps its genetic). But I'm willing to be I'd spend most of my time with my rear end on the ice since I've never been ice skating before let alone chased somethign around it.

Lotte world in Seoul has a sports shop that sells new skates. They're a little pricey but nice enough. Most of the skates look like they are made in Europe but you may be able to find some Canadian made there. I'm sure you can find them in Seoul as well.
Looking forward to hitting the ice, baby!!! |

Would I like to? Yeah. Can I? Busan would be closer. Is there any shinny in that city?
Maybe it's "Omogkyo or Bust". |

I'm willing to go down there to play hockey! I'm able to take a car full of players too. I've played a little 3 on 3 in Taegu about 3 years ago. Cannot remember exactly where the rink there is though and the ice was a tad soft.
Anyway, any which way, I'm game baby! |

If anyone is looking for equipment there's a place in Ilsan (though there's gotta be a place somewhere in Seoul) that sells anything you need, Spomax Hockey I think it's called. Prices are not too bad except for sticks which run a bit higher than back home. Canadian skates, Bauer, CCM. It's a short walk from the Jongbalsan subway stop, at the far end of the orange line. PM me if you want better directions. |

Patience my son,
Haven't forgotten you all. It's going to take some time, that's all. I want to make sure there is a good size group together first. I'm trying to get adds in "Seoul" (selection?) magazine, and the Seoul Classifieds (october editions) I'm hoping that these will generate enough interest to give us 15 players. (the more the merrier I think....and it will bring the price down)
I was going to go to Mokdong to look into prices and ice times last weekend but I fell ill. I will take care of it after the Holidays. Look for some info here in about a week.
Take care all!

Ok, who is up for this?
We can get the ice in Mokdong on Sunday, October 19th, from 8:30am to 10am. The cost is 100 000. The cost will be divided evenly among all players, including myself.
send me an email at [email protected] to confirm your intention to play. All are welcome to join!

Hockey is on for this SUnday, at 8:30 am in Mokdong.
If you want to play just show up with skates, a stick, and a helmet. I am going to buy some gear on Saturday. If you need or want anything let me know. If you'd like to join us in hockey-gear shopping just drop me a line and we can meet somewhere before hand.
It's going to be loads of fun people! Come one, come all!
