Well, it's not as if he's Bill Wyman. |

You know it's funny. Jimmy Page may be the only known pedophile who doesn't seem to upset anybody. I think it's because of the same reason people don't really get to upset about older women having sex with underage boys. Because we all know that when we were underage teenage boys we were dying to have sex with anybody, older or not. Likewise, for a 14 year old American girl in 1974, having sex with Jimmy Page was probably akin to winning the f*cking lottery or getting a pony.

No, younger than that...

Seems to be an unwritten law that it's kosher for rock stars to bang underage rs unless you have a poxy name that ends in Glitter.
Even R Kelly got busted a couple of years ago.. I have to restrain myself every time I see a Korean singing "I believe I can fly.." I want to ask them if they know the guy who sings that song is a pederast, but at the same time, I don't want to burst their bubble so to speak..

Same here...and then I remind myself that it was already a well-known fact that Michael Jackson has a fondness for slumber parties with young boys when he was invited to Kim Dae Jung's innoguration. |

Ah, yes...I Bereave I Cane Fry...a popular hit amongst Korean singers.
I forgot about R. Kelly. Not just underage girls, but watersports too. And he kept having Number 1 hits! But in his case, like Jimmy Page's, I can understand. Their songs are just too catchy, it's hard to stay mad at them. Have you ever listened to all 16 parts of Trapped in the Closet? It's the most brilliant, hilarious thing ever. Maybe he made one part for each year that girl was old. |

Here's more story:
The girl in the video was a guitar prodigy who made an online audition of herself playing a song on her guitar. She played it pretty well, but it's the only song she ever learnt, and she can't play anything else.
Daum hired her for this commercial, and provided this song for her to play. She couldn't figure it out at all. So they hired my brother-in-law, a session musician, to teach her how. He couldn't. So they got him to play the song while she pretends to play.
The commercial went on air but too many musicians saw it and figured out she wasn't really playing. The ad was pulled.
Recently in an interview, someone asked my brother-in-law if he was the guy behind the song. He said yes.
After that, the girl's mother freaked out, saying that her daughter is a brilliant guitarist (who can only play one song), and that he's killing her career. Daum applied pressure to the brother-in-law's friend to get him to make an apology and say he was mistaken and they used a version by this girl.
That's pretty well where we are now, but this isn't done yet. |
Am I the only one who is puzzled as to why there is a scandal over imitation in the Korean music business, or any other music business for that matter? It goes on pretty much everywhere and this is hardly Milli Vanilli. |

They don't need Milli Vanilli. They tweak the voices of the startlets to the hilt with computers nowadays. |

| I'm surprised the video is still up. My brother-in-law made a formal apology, taking credit for showing her how to play the song (which he did--unsuccessfully), and said he didn't know which version they used in the commercial (a bald-faced lie) and that they wound up using hers (also untrue). Daum has been trying to bury this video. Anyway, pretty well every casual observer has figured out the truth, so it doesn't exactly matter now. |

I'm kind of disappointed to find out the girl didn't play it.
That is no slight on the guy who did play it of course, he only
did what he was told.
I know fakery goes on all the time on tv, but in a country
where women are often seen as baby/home makers, it
would have been nice to see a woman truly playing the song. |

Because Koreans would be outraged if a musician or singer appeared on the air and was actually faking it! This is a country that demands honesty in all things, especially music. |
