Now women in the west cross their legs in this fasion:

Men cross their legs like this:

I always assumed men crossed their legs that way because of their hipbone structure. They can't fold one leg over the other leg like a woman. But Korea has proven me wrong. I've noticed, while bored on the subway, that a great number of Korean men cross their legs female fashion. Check it out some time.

Small dick jokes aside, I think it has more to do with leg circumference than bone structure. Back home, I saw a few guys that could cross 'em girl style - they were very thin.

I wish more of them would cross their legs. Instead of spreading them out and taking up too much space on the subway.

Koreans consider it rude to show the bottom of their feet to people. They sit that way so people can't see the bottom of their feet.

Interesting point, Fresh Prince.

Mindmetoo, you've really never seen a man sit like that before you came to Korea? I cannot believe that. I've seen way too many men do it to ever think it is necessarily feminine.

Sometimes, sitting like that is more comfortable. Small dikc jokes are kinda stupid because.. well, you'd need a wang the size of your forearm to actually restrict that kind of positioning.

Only problem with sitting like that is it will cut off circulation in your calves, which will eventually lead to varicose veins.

Personally speaking, I am a man and I cross my legs "Korean style". I didn't think this was something most Korean men did, since I knew people back home that did the same thing.

I found it annoying how people back home would say I cross them like a woman. I think it just shows how narrowly prescribed gender norms and expectations are in the west. Men and women here aren't afraid to show friendly affection towards one another, and I for one, commend such self-confidence and human warmth.

when you cross your legs like a chick, you will either -

a) crush your nuts

b) lower your sperm count

sorry to be vulgar, but just sayin...

Am I the only one who watched Star Trek: The Next Generation? Patrick Stewart sat with his legs crossed together all the time.
