Just thought I would start this as a new topic since it was brought up indirectly due to panthermodern's packing list post. There are a couple of hockey equipment stores in Seoul--Jim Paek Hockey --located in Yangjae and Mokdong. Can't give you an idea about price comparisons with back home but they have left-handed sticks.

Yangjae store phone-2057-4590
Mokdong store phone-2643-4549,
for directions to the store

They do play street hockey at Ajou University on Sundays usually and occasionally play against teams from other cities. I played once last year but, at 41, I am starting to feel the aches and pains of age and not being in the same shape I was in 15 years ago so I don't play often.

I have also seen an ice hockey team drinking at Gecko's in Itaewon--I think Gecko's sponsors a team. In the other thread someone posted a website. Hope this is somewhat useful.

More crap to add to the list:

-Korea and Japan are currently considering forming a joint professional hockey league

-There's an amateur expat club, the Gecko Glaciers, located in Anyang - http://www.glaciershockey.com/

Incheon University and Inha University teachers (and others) play ice hockey at a rink in YonsuDong every Tuesday and Friday. It's a pretty good turn out.

The Ajou street hockey on Sundays should be starting up again in March. We have a blast, just for fun. I'll post on this forum when we start up again, or drop me a line if you're interested.
