I'm expecting mass crowds and probably the mayor to be in Songpa (Jangji Subway Station area) tomorrow afternoon around 1:00 to welcome me when I move in--and finally shake the dust of this sad little town off my feet.

You might want to avoid the crush and just send housewarming gifts by mail. Cash is also welcome.

Wink <-- for the dolts who took that seriously.

Welcome to Seoul Ya-ta.

I hope your life will be significantly bravoed and you feel a hub of well-being. Laughing

Did you always live outside Seoul? First time in the big smoke?

No, this will be a return engagement--back by popular demand, I may add.

I lived in Hongdae from Sept '99 to Dec '00.

i considered taking the day off tomorrow to join the crushing throngs of fans to welcome you.
however, i realized that i wouldn't even catch a glimpse through all the fanfare.
perhaps i'll wander about in your neighbourhood once the excitement has died down in hopes of a sighting.
rss Cool

Neither.

I'll be working with ADULTS in the Army. I've snagged one of the easier jobs in the country. Very Happy Very Happy

The students at my school come to study for 24-week sessions and live at the school during that time. They are highly motivated. Highly. So no discipline issues, no lack of studying. I'll have 10 students and teach them 4 hours a day during the day, and one 2 hour class one evening a week. The English program is good and needs little preparation. I taught with it before when I worked for the Navy. My one reservation is the grammar parts of the program. I've never had to teach grammar before, so that will be something new for me. On the other hand, when I'm not in class I'm free to come and go. No more sitting at my desk for hours on end with nothing to do but surf Dave's. 5 1/2 years of that is long enough.

rss: There is ALWAYS room for one more in the spotlight, smooth or not. Wink

I think the reason I'm so excited is that I've had jobs I didn't like much before, but I've never had one I loathed like I did this one. Couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. Friday afternoons I would start to get depressed because I was dreading Monday already. That's really stupid--and a good sign it's time to make a change.
