You have two options. All the basics are the same.

1. Take the public school job offered paying 2.1/2.2 for the 8 hours a day you have to be in the school. However half the time you sit around cause you have no class to teach. There is less stress and less time working. The amount of actual holiday time given is not clear yet. I've read some threads where most say that they get little holiday time, whereas a few others got a couple months.

2. Return to a Hagwon you previously worked at. The owner is a great guy. You get everything you want. He will offer 2.5 million for the standard 120 hours a month. Only 6 hours a day, but more teaching. there are a few weeks holiday paid.

What do you take?

asking about me - was asking what others would do in that situation. I make my own choices. I lived in Korea 4 years already. I have also taught in Taiwan and Russia. Job has nothing to do with culture. To teach - you can do in any setting.

What I want to know is what others would choose?

So much of hogwan routine is borrowed from the public school regime - I found myself always wondering how much while I was at a hogwan. I would take the public school job just to see the template that the carbon copy is taken from.
