can anyone recommend a coastal town/city for a little mini trip. got my moons handbook, but any tips from you seasoned travellers would be much appreciated.

Hahahahaha...you can come and visit me in Samcheonpo. It's um...coastal. It's actually quite beautiful.




Not much to do other than look at scenery and eat seafood if you don't speak Korean, though.

yeosu looks gorgeous, but we're only going for 1 nite, so needs to be somewhere more central/northern.
korean teacher has recommended jung dong jin (her translation) but i can't seem to find where she means???

Sokcho is nice and is Northern. It has some nice hiking in Seoraksan National Park, if you're into that kind of thing. The beaches are nice too.

That beach is a mess...a train station basically right on the beach, a massive boat overlooking the cliff. A north Korean submarine..

Koreans seem to love it but it is very tacky and probably not what you are looking for...

appreciate the advice folks. have looked into sokcho, but thought it deserved more than a whistle stop visit, so may go there in feb when we've got that long w/e.
think seroksan seems the best option, not too far, but change of scenery will be lovely.
