This hokwan wants to me available 9.5 hours a day. 6 hours of teaching
and 3.5 of "breaks". Is that a scam? |

Let me get it straight. You have to stay "on site" during your breaks? If so, then it's a scam indeed. |

When I was your age, they made us work 25 hours a day, 8 days a week, and we had to walk to Korea across the frozen Pacific!!!
It sounds like a 'not quite a split shift' kind of deal. Not 'exactly' a scam, but far from ideal working conditions. |

Yea but I'm old. Am I a beggar or chooser? I'm on a pension so I'm not that desperate. But I wish I was younger, a different sex and with bigger firmer boobs than I have now. |

Holy smokes, what a reply!!! I think you can be a chooser if you want to be and have a little patience, or if you like everything else about this school you could try negotiating a better schedule. I've done a similar schedule in the past, but we had a decent teachers' lounge with lots of computers as well as a snack room that had a table & chairs, a sofa, a stereo... I guess my point is that there may be other factors to look at rather than just strictly the hours. Hell, it might even be worse- they might expect you to be standing out front handing out flyers during those 3 hours... |

Let me make this clear...
I have absolutely no gender identity issues whatsoever. I am 100% not gay. I don't want to wear a dress, I don't want to wear high heels. i want to go to Korea for the "thrill" of being wanted.

Yeah, I caught the humorous nature of your reply- I didn't think you were seriously looking for a sex change or hitting on me, if that's what you're concerned about. |

On-site? Hwargh.
I sometimes had a split schedule, namely during the summer or when we were short on teachers for whatever reason, but I didn't have to stick around, and my apartment was a 5-minute walk away.
Try to get "on" changed to "off". |

hogwans are starting to try to turn us teachers into slaves- do not do it- hold out for somthing better- quit your job and find something better. VISAs can always be canceled even by you.
Most people work 6 hours straight and that's it (and that's just an average job) don't go for anything less... cuz that's why things are just getting worse and worse here for the teachers... |

TY everybody. I got a 6 hour a day job on Wonju. Even talked to the American teacher there. I have not talked to anybody so stressless in a long time. I should be a good place. |

You a little bored today, DM.
This thread was started when you were still at elementary school wearing shorts. |
