Yeah, but he was with a very good Tennessee Volunteer team in college that lost to arch-rival Gators four times in a row...

The fact that the Super Bowl is in Florida may conjure up some nightmares from the past for him...

But, then again, it just might motivate him to overcome that "Florida" jinx like he finally overcame being known as "Tom Brady's bitch"... [female dog]

I really hope the Colts win because I never want to read another 'Manning is a choker' lazy article. Its really gets me how people will always ignore every factor in the game except the easiest story line. Journalists will for example will always ignore special teams(except return tds/missed and 'clutch' kicks). if the Pats had won last week, I'd have to say te biggest factor was their great field position for most of thier drives. Of course in reality without a great play on the ball by bob Sanders we are going to get 'Brady is clutch' articles. I like both Brady and manning because they are both great QBs. Most of the time when a team loses it is because the other team was slightly better, not that 1 QB is clutch and the other isnt. In a team game that involves so many players, factors, match ups etc, this point of view is lazy in the extreme. If Maning wins a Superbowl it is because his team stepped up and won it. Of course he would be a big contributing factor as he is the best Q in the business but nowhere near the overwhelming factor.

Anyway hopefully the Colts win so I never have to scream when I hear someone say" Manning is a great QB but he just isn't clutch" . Idiots.

Of course there is a flip side. There are also the people who think there is a Evil Rex and a Good Rex. Of course they are the same guy. Just some teas are set up to take advantages of his weaknesses and some to magnify his strengths. Its that simple. this wait for the superbowl is really killing me Very Happy

In the final analysis, what matters most to me are if the digits of the final score match the numbers I get in the Super Bowl pool (that my relatives get for me ... Mr. Green )

No, you've got that wrong. It wasn't PM who couldn't get over the hump against the Gators, it was Philip Fulmer, whose personal kryptonite is Steve Spurrier.

Go BEARS!!!

Does anyone know about if/when this will be broadcast on TV? Are there any sports bars that will be broadcasting the game live?

Where to watch it in Korea is discussed more on the thread in the "General" forum, which I just bumped ...
http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1045792#1045792

Since it starts around 8am here (Monday morning...) it's not a great time for a SuperBowl party, but some bars are mentioned in that thread.

(A couple years ago, I watched the Pats win at a British pub in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and the game started at least an hour earlier - maybe 6am...)

My Super Bowl party will probably just be making some pita bread pizzas for breakfast and hoping that TVU works OK. (CBS has been coming in very well lately...)

Here are some Super Bowl facts I copied from the official site:

Home team: NFC Champion will wear its choice of jerseys.
Pregame Entertainment: Cirque du Soleil
National Anthem: Billy Joel
Halftime Entertainment: Prince
Cost of the Vince Lombardi Trophy: $25,000
Who makes Super Bowl Trophy: Tiffany & Co. of New York.
Cost of Super Bowl rings: League pays for up to 150 rings at $5,000 per ring (plus adjustments for increases in gold and diamonds). League also pays for 150 pieces of jewelry for the losing team, which may not cost more than one-half the price set for the Super Bowl ring.
Host city economic impact: Super Bowl XL generated a total economic impact in Detroit of $261 million, according to a study commissioned by Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.
TV/Radio coverage: CBS will be televising its 15th Super Bowl. CBS Radio-Westwood One will be broadcasting its 20th consecutive Super Bowl, 33nd overall
Super Bowl XL TV audience: Last year's game was watched by 141.4 million viewers. The 10 most-watched programs in TV history are all Super Bowls

BEARS!!!!!!!! there's not a doubt.they're going to win.tt's all arranged......wink wink.........all kidding aside, they have an awesome team this year and grossman has finally gotten over the rookie blues.it was a slow start with all the injuries.i think he's settled in now.sometimes you have to take the sack instead of risking an interception.rookie QB's seem to take awhile to learn that.

Boy, I've been reconsidering my prediction of a Colts blowout, unless the Bears have a big game from a RB.

Defense wins championships- and the Bears have a great one. This game will be close, and the Colts will probably win, but there will be no blowout. Defense can do that for you.

Teams that ride hot defenses this far usually do VERY well in the Super Bowl.
