Not sure about Ori station, but if you want to hook up with the local scene, one way is to go to The Dublin pub, take the subway to Seohyeon Station, south exit (towards Sunae station) 3rd floor on the left, look for the black and red sign with the Shamrock. Interesting collection of people and the staff is pretty cool (little pricey though). There's long timers and short timers there and usually no drama, pool table and a dart board. Not a problem to drop yourself at the bar alone, if you have any social skills at all you should be able to strike up a conversation or two. (one caveat, not the best place to pick up girls).
Good hunting and welcome to Bundang. |

Hello Mack,
welcome to Bundang. I agree with the previous poster, The Dublin is a great starting place to meet people here. I don't agree that it's at all pricey though, not by western bars standards, and the choice is great there. They sell all manner of European bottled beers which may be a little pricey I guess but the regular stuff is the same price as anywhere else and the cocktails are five thousand won at the weekends they are basically two shots and a mixer all in all I think it's the best value anywhere never mind Bundang. A pint of Miller Draught is only 4000w Guinness is seven and Alley Kat 4500. Apart from that though there is a different atmosphere there especially with the recent addition of the pool table. The Irish owner or partner or whatever he is has not been around recently but the staff are generally pretty good and you will always find someone to talk to at least after nine o clock, you will find that the night doesn't get going here until then.
Best of luck to you, try the Dublin on Wednesday night if you haven't already done so live music till late usually a good night. |

the dublin is generic looking bar imo but who cares about how it looks. most of us go there to get drunk and get hooked up. then again its overpriced, overrated and overpopulated by sausages. anyone tried any of these bars, 'picasso', 'bulls', or 'clon'? |

bar clon is a total deadzone, but I go up there sometimes when monkey beach gets obnoxious. it's amusing when the owner makes the bartender get out a korean-english unabridged dictionary to try to keep me occupied and ordering overpriced beers |

Alright thanks. So am I right to think that most Bundang people go out to Seoul on the weekend? Maybe I'll see some of you at the Dublin pub. |

Guys what do you consider the correct price of beer in Bundang to be I have been here a few years now and with the exception of Afternoon Brunch at one of the all you can eat places I have always spent 4500w for a bottle of local brew and between seven and nine for a cocktail and I walked the streets of Bundang looking for somewhere to sit at a bar. Generic is ok by me for a bar in a city where its clientelle is made up of transient young North American European Australian English teachers , middle aged Ajoshis who like to speak English The odd GI on the piss, admittedly small but well travelled groups of Korean ladies who like to talk of their year In Toronto, the niche market is definitely not the way to go when there are four other bars in your building in my opinion.
I really think the Dublin guys are doing a great Job trying to juggle it all cannot be easy, it is hard to believe the place is only two years old.
Thats my tuppence worth punctuation needs addressing bu what the hell.just got back from a long session. Goodnight all. |
