I'm sorry!!!! I have read the answer to this question at least twice in the last 6 months, but now it's relevant to me I can neither remember it, nor find it using the search engine...

My employer possibly wants me split my working week between 2 of her Hagwons (starting next month)

I will have to go to immigration and have the address of the second hagwon added to my ARC, right?

Can anyone tell me:
-how much this costs...
-if my employer needs to go with me...
-What paperwork we need...
-What can potentially happen to us if we don't bother and get caught...

Many Thanks!!

Yes, to make it legal you do need to go to immigration..

*cost: 60 000 won
*employer will need to go with you
*you need your contract
*You can get deported...

You need;

1. Passport
2. ARC
3. Your current contract
4. Your part-time employers contract
5. 60,000 won
6. Application

All they're going to do is stamp your ARC with the info about your new employer on the back part that is meant for amendments.

I was told last year by Cheongju immigration that I can not work for two hagwons even if it is the same owner. I could however work in a hagwon first and be allowed to work at a second location if it was a public school or government office. This was verified by my boss and a Korean friend that translated for me.

I wonder if there was a rule change. Please post the results of your efforts.

I had a public school added to my arc last march. When we went in October to renew my arc immigration told my boss I could not work at the public school this year because it was considered full time although I only worked about 15 hours a week there in the afterschool program. Maybe the law changed? I am waiting to see if I do get the afterschool program again next month.
