Double feeds are common with M-16's and are one of the very few things that drill sergeants don't seem to tear into trainees about during the first weeks. After some time though, a soldier needs to know how to correct it ASAP.

Go to basic at Fort Benning.. they tear into it plenty!

(Rangers lead the way)

My friend did both the advanced training with RCR(which some of its members are now CSOR) in Canada and the Ranger training in the US (finished the course at Camp James E. Rudder in Florida). He told me the Ranger training was easier.

From what I viewed, it is not that they learning how to fire for the first time, they seem to be showing some of the common problems that happen with firing an M16A2 assault rifle.

According to the first dude, he took out his magazine from the feed loader and yet there was still a round in the barrel- that a is a common problem on ranges, which is why the rifleman must always pull the chargin handle back after target practice and range safety personnel put a rod in the barrel, to make sure there is no round stuck in the barrel.

The second dude had a malfunction and had to do specific steps to handle it called SPORTS-

Slap up on the magazine
Pull the charging handle
Observe the chamber for double feeds or stuck rounds
Release the charging handle
Tap on the forward assist (located on the left side of the M16)
Squeeze the trigger
