I don't think anyone mentioned Class, not so great anyways.
And all these Johns Hughes movies, but what about Some Kind of Wonderful? The best by far of his romances.
Morgan Stewart's Coming Home and Hiding Out were two funny Jon Cryer movies.
Private Lessons was a little risque', but I liked it when i was a kid.
Gotcha! might be considered in this line. |

Fast Times was a '70s film, folks; I saw it in high school.
I'd go with Say Anything for romance, Animal House for comedy (Flounder was a freshman and thus only 18 in the story, making it a teen comedy). |

I suppose The Unbearable Lightness of Being sized up my teen angst well. How about Blue Velvet?
I think the Breakfast Club wins. The way it's put together, it could even be presented as a play. While the characters may be stereotypical, it's a movie about stereotypes. It holds up better than most of those movies. there are few that I would even consider watching now.
Shortlist:
Say Anything

Anyhoo, the correct answer be:

The second I thought Over The Edge, there it was, someone else already said it. I was surprized to see it mentioned. I loved that movie when I first saw it as a teenager. My other pick is Meatballs.

I stand corrected. So, what the hell film was it that I went to see in the summer of 1979 with my friends Dave and Tim that has been replaced in my memory by Fast Times. I remember it so clearly because of having to pull off of Ridge Road on the drive back from Rochester because a torrential rain overwhelmed the wipers and left me driving blind. And when did I see Fast Times, and with whom? I am getting old. |

Finally! After 455 (make that 456) posts, score one for Maserial! I wouldn't bask in such a thing, but you've got to understand, it may very well be the lone instance.
Bravo my life, and shit like that. |

Most memorable scene: The previously soft spoken kid executes the traitor among them.
No one's mentioned The Basketball Diaries |
