Woody Allen quintissentially jewish, and quintissentially a New Yorker. His stuff is all about paranoia and over intellectualising everything, especially romantic stuff. What's the word Im looking for ... ah yes, neurotic, that's the core of his humour. The uncomfortableness you feel is all part of it. I think he really hits the nail on the head about a lot of things, but from a very particular point of view ... oh, and clearly he's HYPER intelligent...

The best thing about Scoop was Woody's jokes. I thought they were wonderfully timed and witty. Like George Carlin, he's clearly gotten better with age.

Scarlet Johanson was a huge disappointment. Very boring. Seemed to lack any sort of energy. I'm sure Woddy casted her just because she's one of the more beautiful young actresses working today.

I have Black Dilaila at home, but haven't watched it yet. After watching Scoop, I have low expectations for her performance in this film too.

Woody Allen is brilliant and hilarious. You only need to watch any of his first 150 movies to see this. Sleepers pretty much sealed his fate as a genius. Movies about cats and penguins do well at the box office.
