Yes, the contagious-laughter element, and then being "ordered" (see thread title) not to laugh -- that alone typically has anybody fighting back the urge to bust out in a silly-giggle fit, no matter what's happening on the stage. That's just human nature. And I did come close a few times, around the middle of the clip. Why didn't I actually laugh? I think the fact that the audience there didn't find it that hysterical either, that helped keep my own reaction in check when I felt the urge coming on. But mainly it was just the whole demented, freak-show look & feel of the thing. And of the people, too. I won't say any more than that. I'll leave it to our resident snobby, American-basher, Svetlana, to fill in the blanks.
