| Well, I'd like to agree with you, however some cardigans do have zips and still are officially recognised as cardigans, much to my consternation. I would say that at the very least, a cardigan must be worn over a proper collared shirt, not on the bare chest or over a singlet. |

mmmm....complex....Isn't there a body or organisation we can bring this to for a defination?
Wikipedia doesn't go far enough with it's defination.
