Little Miss Sunshine (remember: Around the Bend), The Last King of Scotland, The Queen, Babel (remember: Crash), Borat, even that gawd dreary typical The Departed.... all Oscar nominations, all seen for 5000 won on excellent illegal DVDs from Itaewon, all better than Children of Men...

I liked The Prestige the most in all of 2006 and hated Children of Men...did I miss something in that movie?
What a waste of giga space and time that was. |

Little Miss Sunshine was all about Alan Arkin to me. It could have been a sequel to Slums of beverly hills. The rest of the cast seemed like tehy were in a Cohen Brothers film. I don't think it's Oscar quality, but I thought the same thing about Crash.
Departed wasn't as good as some of the director's other movies, but it was not bad by any means.
Illusionist had a great soundtrack, movie was a little dopey.
DaVinci code wasn't as bad as i had heard.
A lot of movies on that list i have but haven't seen yet. i better get crackin'. |

| The Departed was the only one of the nominees I've seen, although I've got most of them downloaded and ready to watch, and it's a masterpiece. Best film of 2006 and one of the best I've seen in a few years. |
