Not too long ago, people in the same country were shot and killed by hooded men just for being black.

I'm sure there are other incidents where people have been attacked by a car or a cab, but that doesn't make news copy unless it involves Islam.

I wonder how a Christian cabby would take it if I said that Jesus was gay ( no offence to gays) and was always willing to give a reach around. (The hand of God takes on a new meaning) If I did that down in the bible belt of good old America, I would probably get shot and nothing about it would make national news, just some story in the local news that would read like this. "Cabby Leroy Penner pleads not guilty for murdering passenger who insulted Jesus."

I can believe that the college kids were abrasive. I can give the taxi driver some credit on this. In fact, I guess they probably were abrasive (at least, in his eyes).

I just don't want to live amongst people who can't have a conversation (even if it was heated) without trying to kill people. Those kids also deserve to live in that style of a place until they finish their education.

I reacted to Supernick's post without reading it through. (Although I stand by what I said in my previous post).

It just seems to me that nothing could justify this guy trying to run people over after they had paid him and were walking away.

This doesn't seem like the higher moral ground to me.

I think the fellow should serve jail time and then be deported to Somalia. I don't know if he is a citizen. I don't think he is. However, there should be something about revoking the citizenship of terrorists. The government in London did that to a fanatical imam. Yes, there is a serious lack of tolerance in the Muslim world in terms of discussing religion and differences. However, it was not smart of those students to discuss religion and perhaps put down the religion of a cab driver they don't know. I would say about Somalis, that I've met plenty of nice ones, but I would suspect that tribal Somali has too many youths who are prone to violence, and that is one reason they didn't have a country for over 10 years. The U.S. is better off taking more of the Bantus of Somalia who are discriminated against in Somalia as being darker Africans, and they should make sure they are getting quality immigrants with tolerant views. Many people want to immigrate so be more selective. I don't mean ban immigration from those places just have a more vigorous process.
