If you're planning on travelling around Japan, get a JR pass. They are good for all travel on JR lines anywhere in Japan and will save you a ton of money if you are going to other cities besides Tokyo. It will also cover the JR Narita line.
In any case, if you are going to Japan, you are going to get "raped" every day. Everything there is expensive, especially transport. It's really not a place for someone who is disturbed by high prices. |

What are you talking about? I took the JR from Narita airport for 1000 yen each way. That's only about $10CDN. The limousine bus was about 3000 per person.
Tokyo isn't that expensive. Transportation isn't that expensive. It is cheaper than any mid-sized city in Canada. The average subway ride will cost you about 1,400 won. Taxis are expensive, yes. |

Scroll down to Ground Transportation. ''The most expensive train (and one of the fastest) to the airport is the Narita Express. Journey times between the airport and Tokyo Station vary from as little as 53 minutes to 70 minutes depending on the time of departure. The price from the airport to Tokyo station is 3,140 yen in ordinary class.
All Narita Express trains serve Narita Airport Terminal 1, Narita Airport Terminal 2 and Tokyo Station. Some trains also make additional stops between the airport and Tokyo - at Narita or at Chiba Station."
"The price of the Skyliner from Narita Airport to Keisei Ueno Station is 1,920 yen"
"Many bus companies operate to and from the airport, charging fares from 3,000 yen for central Tokyo to 4,000 yen for outer suburbs."
"Taxi service is available, although it is usually prohibitively expensive for single travellers because of the great distance from the airport to the city. Fares are based on a zone system; trips to central Tokyo range from 14,000 to 20,000 yen (plus around 1,450 yen for expressway tolls, also late night/early morning surcharges). Shared ride services no longer operate from Narita." |

Or you can have a limo pick you up and pay even more. Or, even hire a helicopter. Or, just take the 1,000 yen JR train, which only takes about an hour until it connects to the Outer Circle JR Line in Tokyo. |

The Narita Express is JR, & they are currently charging 3,140 yen in ordinary class, NOT 1000 yen. How long is it since you went? 10 years?
"JR also offers rapid service Kaisoku Airport Narita trains to Tokyo Station, which take 90 minutes but cost less than the Narita Express. These trains stop at several stations on the Narita Line and Sobu Line en route to Tokyo. Most continue on to stops on the Yokosuka Line, going as far as Kurihama Station in Yokosuka."
Kaisoku Airport Narita prices could be worth checking. The lowest I found was 1,280 yen here:
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/nex/fares.html
Note the top table is the expensive Narita Express, & the lower table is the much cheaper "Airport Narita". |

Yeah, I went during Chuseok 2006. Took the JR train from Narita right into Tokyo for around 1,000 yen. Never said it was an express train. There are about 6 different trains that do the route. |

By Keisei Railways:
Take the Keisei Limited Express from Narita Airport to Nippori Station (about 75 minutes, 1000 Yen) and transfer to the JR Yamanote Line or JR Keihin-Tohoku Line to get to Tokyo Station (10 minutes, 150 Yen). There are connections every 20 minutes. |

Seriously, look at what I wrote. I said it cost around 1,000 yen. Are you going to be such an a$$hole that you can't admit 1,280 yen isn't around 1,000 yen? People like you are such losers. It's a $2 difference!!!!!!!!! People were talking about how it costs $30 each way, it doesn't! |

Thanks huffdaddy for some factual & accurate information.
So it's 1150 yen from Narita to Tokyo on the Keisei Limited Express & with a switch to the JR line at Nippori Station.

For a start, you got the train wrong. It's the Keisei Limited Express not Japan Rail / JR, or Kaisoku Airport Narita. Resorting to abuse is a surefire way of losing an academic argument, btw. Provide facts & source links. Far more impressive! |

Actually, I took the JR train and paid the 1,280 fare, but I guess I didn't keep all my receipts to use during an argument with some loser on Dave's. He thought it cost $30, I showed him it didn't and then you come on here. Anybody who can't possibly deal with a $2 difference from what they heard when they go travelling should go home and hang themselves in their closet.
I also forgot, I told my friend I bought my MP3 player for 250,000 won, but it might have actually cost me 260,000 won. I should call him and apologize profusely, because a difference of that much is just not acceptable and I should be put in jail.
People like you are such idiots. |

Provide a JR source link, to back up your 1280 yen claim, & I'll apologise.
Or are you just mouthing off again? |
