Just passing on some info that a friend told me...

Cage in Itaewon has free drinks (wells and beer) for foreigners until midnight every Wednesday. A few friends went last week, and a bunch of us are going tomorrow.

but its like 20K to get in. Meaning that you need to hit 5 mixed drinks or almost 7 beers to break even.

As far as I understand, it's Cage's last gasp at trying to get people to come to their club. My friends went last week, and they say it's all on the up n up.

I'm not keen on the "for foreigners only." Would we say "fair's fair" if there were a bar down the street doing the same thing just for Koreans? What about people want to bring their Korean girlfriend/boyfriend? I like free booze as much as the next person, but the idea of serving it to people based on skin colour is ugly.

p.s. How much do you want to bet they'll make an exception for Nigerians?

Funny how you never hear anyone complain about that sort of discrimination. Not even femi-nazis.

I'm more femi- than -nazi, but you're right, I don't complain about this. You know why? Because it ultimately benefits the boys.

You know, I've heard that an awful lot, that "ladies nights" benefit guys. Frankly, it doesn't.
Ladies nights encourage girls to go out with their lady friends for the evening. The most horrible thing for a guy on a prowl is to find the perfect girl...has friends. Friends who are not getting attention from other guys, will drag a girl away from you.
Ladies out at ladies night rarely get hammered. The lines are fairly long, and most girls don't want to get wasted the same way we guys do. Semblence of dignity and all that rubbish.
The place becomes packed with desperate wierdo guys. Often on ladies nights, the creeps will come out, with their sole intention being on picking up the girl who is too hammered to stand up. This guy is not only creepy, but ruins it for us all.

Meh, ignore my rant. The important point is that you said you'd be ok with "free foriegner drinks" if there were "free korean drinks". Well, wheres my "boys night"? Where's my banana! Where's my banana!

I guess that's why you need a wing-man or two, or the moxy to ingratiate yourself to the whole gang.

I beg to differ.

I'm not okay with "free Korean drinks." I'd be pretty annoyed about that. I'd be okay with "free foreigner drinks" if it benefited Koreans somehow (drunken English practise?)

Hey, I went last night. Heres the deal:
The club sucks ass. THe music is awful.
The place was dead empty. There were 3 guys, including me for the first 2 hours, and 3 girls. Eventually, 3 more guyss came, and one girl left. Dead club for what used to be limelight.
The important thing, booze and entryreally and truly are free with no limit on quantity. A little tip though, get the beer. My bud ordered a screwdriver, and I got a gin and tonic- both of which were alcohol free. Stick with the beer, you can't water down a bottle.

the club was still empty? really? at what time did you go? wow, that's sad. they can't give it away. when does the drink special start? my friend was urging me to go around 10 o'clock, but i decided 2 hours of free boozing wasn't enough to make the trip to itaewon.

i never understood why they redesigned limelight. it was the most popular spot while simultaneously being completely cheap, sh*tty and overpriced. what more could a club owner want?

The drinking starts at 9 (though they don't mind a few minutes early: I went in at 8:50). It ends at midnight, at which point you can leave or stay for the stripper at 1 (I kid you not).
Now, about your friend urging you to go, if it was a guy friend- then I priobably know you (process of elimination, as there were 3 guys, one of whom is my close friend). More importantly, 2 hours is plenty of time for good ol' binge drinking. Apparently, they will run still special until the bar goes out of business- so you'vee got probably another week for free drinking.

PS- This may be a good time to suggest a daves meeting. We all go there, drink for free, meet every body.

Try to be honest: the so-called females benefit from a good roll in the sack, too.

The loud-mouthed Canadians from Southern Ontario - "Toronto Dot" as the dumb bimbos put it - running around The Family Mart in I'taewon across the street from Geckos last Friday morning at 2:45 demanding that I buy them dried squid and then screaming at me that I'm "boring" for refusing to do so are evidence that so-called Lady's Night attracts types that are a far call from being ladylike.
