In the nationality pool, I'm betting the good mr. LL moonmanhead is English.

LL Moonmanhead, you should call your buddy up in the morning, and make sure he hasn't slipped into a coma. Getting knocked unconscious is pretty bad for your head...probably it's nothing, but one time in a fifty thousand when somebody gets their jaw shut for them, they fail to wake up because their brain is all bloodied and swollen. Probably nothing a power-drill trepanning can't cure, but it's best to not try that procedure yourself. (see link below.)
Not to get you all worried or whatever, but head injuries are kinda wierd...especially ones where your teeth get smucked together hard enough to literally knock you out.

But hey--nice punch, man!

I wouldn't call it a home remedy exactly, but in a pinch, you can treat a subdural hematoma with a drill or a chisel. To wit:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trepanation

if it's this, your buddy is in trouble. he might have to become a kindergarten teacher. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subdural_hematoma

if it's this, it's not quite as bad. he'll probably still be able to teach english to middle school kids.

At my old boxing gym, any loss of consiousness was followed up with a hospital visit. Most of them weren't nessecary, more for keeping up apperances.

Help him get to a hospital - and pay part of the bill if necessary ...

I expect that your mate is fairly pissed off at you, he may even want to harm you in revenge. Here's what to do:

Take all the chairs, couches and cushions in your apartu and construct a solid fort with only one entrance - its easier to defend this way.

You will need head protection - a large saucepan should suffice but a frypan duct taped to the head works just as well.

You need a method of self protection. Gather all the items of footwear - lobbed from the fort entrance these can be used as long-range defence.

Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner, the metal pole makes an excellent close combat spear.

Guard your fort with you life. God speed

Sage advice as usual, my dear Mr. Batstove. I am always happy to hear about people using vacuum-wands for their true intended purpose.

By all means, Mr. Moonheadman, you would be well advised to use the Fort; but please allow me to additionally recommend that should the need arise, you migt pop your erstwhile mate in the jaw, again, with the vacuum-wand if need be, and be assured he will (as theSpongebob song has it) "get down on the ground and flop like a fish." Jaw concussions breed more jaw concussions!

I've suffered through at least three of' 'em due to fighting with Canadian cousins.

Crappy, this explains my lowered Intelligence Quotient for sure, eh, and teaches me to always keep on the weights.

Good point. Perhaps the 'victim' is American. I still vote NZ for the OP.

I'm English, not Welsh!

And what's wrong with a bit of man on man wrestling!?! I'm comfortable enough with my own sexuality thanks very much.

My friend had to have stitches and is on some kind of medication so he's unable to drink for the next week or so and looks a bit worse for wear. But they have to learn that this is what happens if you mess with me! Wink
