Holy crap! Mighty Mo just knocked out Choi Hongman. I'm surprised that the referee didn't give Choi the full ten count before calling the match, but then again, he didn't look like he was starting to get up. I guess that's what happens when promoters and judges protect you in your home town.

Yeah nice job by mighty mo there. It looked like a complete mismatch with choi being probably a foot and a half taller than mo but choi showed his lack of skills. Too bad for choi as he seems pretty humble and a likeable kinda guy, just too bad he can't fight for peanuts.

Who was that hottie who accompanied Choi to the ring? Was it real Korea singer, or was it just a Japanese girl who lip-synched to a Korean song? When Choi came out with a baseball cap on sideways and rapping, I thought ... well, nevermind what I thought.

Edit:

Unfortunately for Choi, all of his future opponents will study this fight closely, especially given his inability to learn and adapt. You can bet that this is one fight that will not be played incessantly on "Super Koreans."

Mehhh....too much rolling around on the ground humping each other with mma. i prefer the toe to toe duke it out style of k1.

See Karaev got ko'd again. It was a good fight though, he was just too pumped about knocking the other dude out in the closing stages of the roundand was a little unlucky maybe.

While mixed martial arts (mma) is closer to what would happen in a real fight, I prefer to watch K-1.

The Hari/Karaev match was great. Hari deserved to win, but Karaev made him work for it. The swift final blow was reminiscent of the KO that Karaev received from Ray Sefo.

And in another good fight, it looks like Yusuke Fujimoto has established himself as the new King of Japan by knocking out Musashi in overtime.

Yeah...great knock out that too, he was faking Musashi out with a lot of upper body feints then twack! a great kick to the head.

Dang, I had no idea there was a fight day. I'm watching it now tho.

Where can I check to get plugged into the fight times?

BTW, Choi Hong Man lives in my building, when he's not training in Japan. he's a totally decent guy. I see him on the corner playboxing with little kids sometimes. He is also pretty cool about taking a pic with random people. He's freaking HUGE. He has to bend down to get into the elevator. Too bad he can't fight for shit. Although he has gotten a bit better lately.

I blinked and missed the end of the last fight, it came that fast (thank goodness for replays). After the first round, during which he penetrated Schilt's defences and got a standing eight-count, I thought that Sefo would redeem his loss to Schilt during the 2005 Grand Prix finals. Too bad, I feel for him. Perhaps the greatest K-1 competitor to never become world champion.

It's a bad match-up for Hongman, I think. Although "Mighty Mo" is much shorter, he has fairly long arms and a powerful straight right that he gets all of his stocky build into. The Korean fighter let Mo get in too close, held his guard too low, and had no chance to avoid it by backing away at the last instant.

Choi has beaten better fighters fair-and-square, I think, but this guy evidently has his number, and he had him measured. A lot of fighters don't like punching down at much shorter opponents because of the leverage factor. In this case, he clearly couldn't keep him at a safe distance either by controlling him with his jab and low kicks or making him pay with power shots when he got inside...
