Hi,

We have just moved to Suwon, and I am looking for suppliers of TV, phone and internet. Any good suggestions or companies to avoid?

We thought we found one, but the modem had to be ON for the telephone to work and the TV shows where a day old!

I would like to try and get connected this week, any suggestions or contact numbers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

We thought we found one, but the modem had to be ON for the telephone to work and the TV shows where a day old!

We phoned up a company who have been dropping tons of flyers in the area round our apt..
The chaps had just shown up at our door to connect us to a TV/Internet/Phone package, and they asked if we understood the details of the package.
We needed to have the modem on to use the phone, and the TV shows were a day old!

We politely told them to forget it. I take it this service is not the usual, or are there many people being conned out there?

We are looking again this week for any good companies to try.

Thanks,
Ken

Yeah,
we went with Suwon Broadcasting for our internet (through the wall socket) and KT for the phone.

They had fair 2-year packages.

Thanks
Ken

Yeah you get Megapass, but their best package here was for a 3-year contract. We do not know where we will be in more than 2 years, so we chose a the best 2-year deal we could get.

The cost of cancelling after 2 years, was to pay for the 3rd year!
But we are happy enough with the package we got. Smile

It depends if you plan to stay in Korea for awhile and in the same apartment. If you are, then you can get 3 year contracts and get good discounts and better service.

My wife and I are probably going to live in this apartment for 4 years so we got the Skylife package. It's a 3-year contract. 35,000 per month. The box (a nice thing with a 160GB recorder) and satellite dish become yours after those 3 years and the monthly payments are reduced by 5000 won.

For internet? I really think Hanaro are the best. Fantastic internet connection. Really, really, fast! A phone line and a wireless router for the bedroom laptop. All 35,000 per month.

did you know that a lot of buildings have deals with the internet companies so taht you are limited to only their service? might want to check with the building manager before shopping around too much. might end up being a big waste of time.
