Next holiday is not until May 24th with a work day the next day on Friday killing a chance of a long weekend off? In Korea, do you typically get Arbor Day and Childrens day off? Since Children's Day, May 5th, falls on Saturday this year, will any of you get the day before on Friday off? Just curious about the deal with time off here with a hagwon gig. Had 3 day weekend for Lunar New Year off last month, but it was cold and rainy.

If it falls on a Saturday then it is a holiday. Don't you know, every Saturday is a holiday for you. You're lucky!

Yes, thats true in Korea as the concept of the 5 day work week is somewhat new with many people still working 6 or 7 days a week which I believe would be miserable. I see all these high school kids on Saturday afternoons wearing suits riding city buses after having gone to school since early morning. Car mechanics and small business people are still at it well into late Saturday evening and even Sunday, so many people are working 7 days a week here. I can only wonder if they are happy. Seems so strange...
