That makes no sense. What grounds would they have to arrest a teacher at an "interview"?

What grounds would they have to arrest a teacher with a F2 visa as he or she can teach anywhere they please?

Smells fishy or we did not get the full story (kind of par for the course online) or this is incompetence.

Well Homer, congrats... you're coming to the same conclusion that others have already come to. Why would the police be so stupid? They didn't know how the visas worked, and they've just botched whatever wonder-sting they were trying to set up.

Attorneys are now involved.

People in that thread were also saying 'police' a lot. Cops have no juristiction with foreigners and foreign affairs unless we smash someone over the head with a soju bottle or something like that.

The thing about cops is this. If they stop you, they have to speak English to you and you have to understand. Even if you are going to get a ticket, they'll tell you why you're getting one and ask you if you understand why you're getting one.

A while ago a friend and I got out of a ticket cause we played the "Dumb white guy no speakee Korean" card.

If it was an immigration officier asking to see my ID...sure. Some cop wantiing to see my card...give me a reason? Is it illegal to walk down the street now?

B.S. if you ask me.

Actually...foreigners are required by law to present their I.D. card to any law enforcement officer who asks' for it. The same for koreans.

Just in case you missed it...I was saying the story sounds like a made up story.....Re-reading the thread, I see many holes in this so called police sting. But hey...it is online and written by one of us (westerner) so it muct be true.

Come to America and try playing the dumb spanish guy that speaks no English.. here is what will happen to you and your buddies.. you will get out of your car at the same time going no habla no habla.. and i will promptly stick my glock down your throat and say if you speak another word or move in the wrong direction i will promptly blow you and your friends head off..

if you don't know what i am talking about i am sure you have all seen the video of the Texas deputy that was jumped by the people in the car "Mexicans" and killed with his own gun.. so yeah say that now and when they beat your ass I will laugh like a mofo..

don't forget your in their country.. you have to speak their language.. they don't have to do do shit....

What else can be said?

Take an otherwise law-abiding person and make them into a criminal? What good does that do? Why don't they just go after all the clean-living foreigners and get them hooked on heroin so they can kick 'em out of the country?
