Anyone else downloading this "Can Com" Corner Gas? Little Gas Station on the Prairie. The lead is a bit... unconvincing. Delivers his lines as if he's reading them from a script (I guess he's also the show's creator). But the rest of the cast is more natural. I've only got about 3 eps into the first season but I like what I've seen. Lot of the humor kind of reminds me of Kevin Smith's Clerks.
I dl it from TV Torrents. |

Brent Butt is a comedian first, in the legacy of Jerry Seinfeld.
My wife actually wants to go to Saskatchewan because she loves this show. I really don't know how to prevent that. |

The father is about every old white Canadian male. Good stuff. |

Love the show. Watched it faithfully back home in Saskatchewan (it is actually filmed in Roleau, Sask.) Davis (the cop) is easily my fav character.
The TPB movie is pretty good too... plays like a long episode of the series, but if your one of the TPB faithful, you will see some of the gloss-overs in the plot (ie. how they relate to incidents thru the regular series). |

Hell yeah! I got season 1 & 2 on disc over here. One of my friends is supposed to be sending over season three.
Love the characters and the writing. They all crack me up. Specially Wanda. She would make a great Dave's ESL character.
But it's Oscar who always leaves me rollin on the floor. |

I hate to destroy the illusion, but I've been to Rouleau (my grandfather took me as a special treat, though I don't really watch the show), and they only film the exteriors there.
There interior shots are done in.... guess? Tee Oh. |

Well that explains how they were able to get Stephen Harper to make a cameo in the last episode. |

The interiors of Goodwill Hunting were shot in Toronto too. |

I rode my bike across Canada last year and was going to visit a friends mother who lived in Weyburn about 100km South East of Rouleau. It was a hot day and I was always on the lookout for a place to have a drink.
I saw this nice little station so I stopped to buy something to drink (probably PowerAde or something). I walked up to the door and it was closed A few seconds later this young goon strode up to me and I asked why this store was closed midday. It is not a store, it is a set Oh yeah, for what show?
I had been in Korea for a couple of years and was out of touch with Cdn programming. He pointed to the sign that read Corner Gas, Oh, is it funny? I replied. He wasnt much into the chatter that I was looking to have, but since he worked for the show, he said it was funny.
Many others said they liked the show, but I have yet to see it, though back in Korea.
I will download some now.
My two cents. |

Comparing it to Seinfeld is fair, as it's a bit more of a family-friendly version with kind of similar plot devices. I would have to say, based on the two episodes of Little Mosque on the Prairie, that it is much better and the humour is sharper. |
