I've got an idea to teach my students the finer points of pronunciation - i.e., "r". "l", "f", the letters Korean students have difficulties with.

Does anyone know of any good games (or links to good games) that I could use? I've looked up the Idea Cookbook here and gotten some ideas, but any further input from you guys would be superb!

Thanks.

I make them say words like Florida, Turtle, Roller Coaster, Fox.

Show them where the toungue belongs or the teeth.

One very simple (though not hugely productive) game is simply to write the letters on the board and get the students to make words. For instance you could write:

R f

L c d v

a e i o u y

V s t l

F r

Draw a big circle around the letters, divide the class into groups, and see which one can make the most words. Then you could practice saying the words they make, try to make sentences out of them, etc.

Hey, thanks for the ideas! I'm gonna mull them over in my head for a while...

Another question: how important do you think it is to teach these letters? Considering my main role in the school is to improve pronunciation among the students, I'm putting a high premium on their getting these letters ("l", "r" and "f" especially) correct. But am I putting too high a premium on them? I was thinking maybe 2 lessons - too much or too little?
