Some things that would be helpful is:
1. A brief description of what it is.
2. How to setup an account with your ARC.
3. Types of payment that is accepted.
4. Anything else that is important to know.
It would be great of someone can post a quick guide on registering/using danawa. |

It's a computer hardware software site.
Learn Korean or get a Korean to call for you.
Call the stores that list the prices in red, as they are the cheapest for any given product. They will tell you which bank to deposit the money in and will give you their account number. Tell them your address and when to deliver it, go to their bank, deposit the money and that's it. Wait. |

Sounds remarkably simple. Anything else that should be kept in mind?
sounds kinda sketchy just to go to a bank and deposit cash into someone's account with a receipt or record of the transaction. Is there a way you can get in writing the reason why you are putting money in their account? |

Hmmm....trusting individual, eh?
The bank will record the transaction, and frankly, I have yet to have a problem doing things this way. Do you think they will send you a lump of coal instead of a hard drive?
The only reason to signup at Danawa is to leave comments. Ho-hum.
It really is as easy as I said. I used to live 2 hours from Seoul and did a lot of business with the phone and bank transfers. A lot. Have some faith in the system...it works really well.
A good idea is to give them an alternate location for delivery, as the gentlemen driving the motorbikes that typically deliver your goods (in Seoul anyways) seem to all lack wristwatches. They get paid by the load, so it's in their best interest just to get it there as fast as possible, your schedule be darned. If you have a security office in your building, give that as the drop off...the guard will keep it there until you come and sign for it. That or your school... |

You could ask a Korean co-worker or friend to buy it online with their credit card and just give them the cash. |
