No. Every once in a while a superpower needs a good kick in the ass.

USSR- Afghanistan
USA- Vietnam, Iraq
England- USA, India
France- Germany x2, Vietnam, Algeria

It serves to remind us that nothing is forever, and that no one is undestructable.

And the war was illega, unjust and wrong since the beginning so I can't support it or the troops.

So, instad of supporting the US and coalition partners you are supporting a bunch of people who blow up cars full of kids? I wish I had the link to the story of 2 insurgents who passed through a checkpoint because they had kids in the back, then ran out of the car before exploding it and the kids inside it. Those are the people you are supporting then? Wow, makes you think about the people on this board.

Well think what you like, but none of that stuff existed before the US invaded. Now they have unleashed hell on Earth. If someone invaded my country I would do whatever it took to get rid of the invaders. As for the religious violence, well thats what they get for believing in witchcraft and voodoo. My sympathy button is broken.

To oppose something does not mean you SUPPORT the opposite.

You're a farking moron. He said "I want the U.S. and allies to lose this war."

That is the same as saying, "I support the bunch of people who blow up cars full of kids."

We're talking about a war, not ideologies, jackass.

I was making a general comment.

What's your issue today? You're reading attacks when there are none, and calling people morons for writing a sentence.

Good to know you would blow up kids but run away yourself. This is ultimately where leftist thought takes people...to supporting those who kill children.

In this case, it is. if the US loses, those "people" win. Its either one or the other..or maybe you are under the impression that a third force of benevolent Elves stands to take power when all is said and done.

No, jinju, in this case it doesn't.

Octavius may support one side, but I support neither. I think an American 'win' (whatever that means) would set an horrendous precedent. I think an 'insurgent win' would also be horrible.

I don't support either side, so no, not supporting one side doesn't mean you support the other side.

gang ah jee's question is a salient one. Before your question can be answered, you have to define what is meant by "win"? At what point can it be said that the "war" (incidentally, I'm not sure what is going on in Iraq can be defined as a "war") is "won"?

Four years ago, GWB landed a plane on a carrier and made a speech with a big banner in the background that said, "mission accomplished". What gives?

Way to put words in my mouth, I never said that. I said I would do whatever it took to repulse invaders from my country. If that meant killing kids, so be it. Its funny insurgents kill kids its terrorim and evil, Americans drop cluster bombs or WP and kill children and that is ok because the US was trying bring them freedom, mission acomplished.

And yes I am cheering for the insurgents. God I love Fridays.
