UFO Crashes in Russia�s Siberia

An unidentified flying object has crashed in Krasnoyarsk Region, Siberia, causing a forest fire, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported on Friday.
The crash took place in the taiga between the towns of Yeniseisk and Lesosibirsk, the agency said quoting the local Interior Ministry directorate. The crash was reported by local villagers and traces of forest fire can be seen on the site. Air traffic officials said that no aircraft were scheduled to fly in the region at the time of the crash and no air vessels were missing.
A group formed of police investigators, representatives of the Transport Prosecutors Service and representatives of the aircraft safety watchdog Rosavianadzor has started to the site of the crash from Krasnoyarsk.
Local Emergencies Directorate has sent a helicopter to the site.

This photo, supplied by NASA and the European Space Agency on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, shows Pismis 24-1, a bright young star that lies in the core of the small open star cluster Pismis 24, the bright stars in this Hubble Space Telescope image.
It was one of the top candidates for the title of Milky Way stellar heavyweight champion until very recently, Pismis 24-1, about 8,000 light-years away from Earth, was thought to have an incredibly large mass of 200 to 300 solar masses. but new NASA/ESA Hubble measurements of the star, have discovered that Pismis 24-1 is actually two separate stars, and, in doing so, have halved its mass to around 100 solar masses.
The star cluster Pismis 24 lies in the core of the large emission nebula NGC 6357 that extends on the arm of the Sagittarius constellation.
The results of the lastest observations was reported to the Massive Stars Workshop in Argentina this month, December 2006.

There is a secret war being waged in Space.
The video below is literally smoking gun evidence of hostile military action towards advanced extraterrestrial spacecraft, photographed during NASA Space Shuttle mission STS-48.
If our governments are engaged in a secret war with another civilization from a distant world, we have some serious questions to ask.
Who authorized this ? Why would we attack an extraterrestrial spacecraft, who's technology is hundreds, maybe thousands, perhaps even millions of years ahead of us ?
Recently, there has been a growing controversy over what actually happened. NASA claims it is just "ice particles". But as described in this short documentary clip, this explanation is simply not good enough. After watching the sequence, it is clear that the most likely explanation is that an advanced spacecraft was victim to a ground based missile strike. Considering the fact that this object maneuvered from 0 to 3000 MPH within about 1 second, the inertia would have killed any human passengers using traditional earth based propulsion and space technology. Based on this, we can assume that there is indeed a high probability that this spacecraft is of extraterrestrial origin.

France Opens Secret UFO Files Covering 50 Years

PARIS (AFP) - France became the first country to open its files on UFOs Thursday when the national space agency unveiled a website documenting more than 1,600 sightings spanning five decades.

The online archives, which will be updated as new cases are reported, catalogues in minute detail cases ranging from the easily dismissed to a handful that continue to perplex even hard-nosed scientists.
"It is a world first," said Jacques Patenet, the aeronautical engineer who heads the office for the study of "non-identified aerospatial phenomena."
Known as OVNIs in French, UFOs have always generated intense interest along with countless conspiracy theories about secretive government cover-ups of findings deemed too sensitive or alarming for public consumption.
"Cases such as the lady who reported seeing an object that looked like a flying roll of toilet paper" are clearly not worth investigating, said Patenet
But many others involving multiple sightings -- in at least one case involving thousands of people across France -- and evidence such as burn marks and radar trackings showing flight patterns or accelerations that defy the laws of physics are taken very seriously.
A phalanx of beefy security guards formed a barrier in front of the space agency (CNES) headquarters where the announcement was made, "to screen out uninvited UFOlogists," an official explained.
Of the 1,600 cases registered since 1954, nearly 25 percent are classified as "type D", meaning that "despite good or very good data and credible witnesses, we are confronted with something we can't explain," Patenet said.
On January 8, 1981 outside the town of Trans-en-Provence in southern France, for example, a man working in a field reported hearing a strange whistling sound and seeing a saucer-like object about 2.5 meters (eight feet) in diameter land in his field about 50 meters (yards) away.
A dull-zinc grey, the saucer took off, he told police, almost immediately, leaving burn marks. Investigators took photos, and then collected and analyzed samples, and to this day no satisfactory explanation has been made.
The nearly 1,000 witness who said they saw flashing lights in the sky on November 5, 1990, by contrast, had simply seen a rocket fragment falling back into earth's atmosphere.
Patenet's answer to questions about evidence of life beyond Earth was sure to inflame the suspicions of those convinced the government is holding back: "We do not have the least proof that extra-terrestrials are behind the unexplained phenomena."
But then he added: "Nor do we have the least proof that they aren't."
The CNES fields between 50 and 100 UFO reports ever year, usually written up by police. Of these, 10 percent are the object of on-site investigations, Patenet said.
Other countries collect data more or less systematically about unidentified flying objects, notably in Britain and in the United States, where information can be requested on a case-by-case basis under the Freedom of Information Act.
"But we decided to do it the other way around and made everything available to the public," Patenet said.
The aim was to make it easier for scientists and other UFO buffs to access the data for research.
The website itself -- which crashed host servers hours after it was unveiled due to heavy traffic -- is extremely well organized and complete, even including scanned copies of police reports.

Let's pretend.
So here you are on vacation, cruising around the galaxy and decide to make a stop on this blue planet. You notice that everyone is staring at you and they seem frightened. WTF? So you take off for some place a bit nicer and suddenly you have these crafts following you around with radar fixed on you.
It's been a long time since you got to get out of your space ship and stretch your legs and all you want is a bit of peace and quiet at the beach. Maybe take some pics and try to steal a glance of the local folks. Instead you've gotten stares and been chased off. Why? Maybe it's because everyone is jealous of you? They want want you have, freedom. The government of this planet wants to control you as well, a visitor on vacation. This government wants to use you for their own purpose. They want to create such fear of you that you will not be welcome regardless of your intentions.
Anyway, I do believe there is life as we perceive it beyond this planet. Why not? Worse things have happened.

ET's? Duh. To think there are NOT is what is most absurd. Even the ancient greeks (pre-socratics and the like) widely explored the vast cosmological possibilities.
Are all other worldly life-forms friendly? Likely not.
All dangerous & threatening to our well-being & happiness? Likely not.
When it all comes down to it, the picture's probably even bigger than what most can ever come close to just barely considering.

Actually, Steven Spielberg did revisit the subject in a TV series called "Taken" :

It was filmed in Richmond, BC, BTW.
Spielberg's commentary on the subject is quite interesting.
He said it is written very much as fiction, but it is based on books by researchers into the subject. It follows the basic themes and theories fairly faithfully without intending to be taken too literally as history.
I found it enjoyable simply as good fictionally drama. But you need to stick with it past the first episode or two. The ending is quite interesting.
