I have been offered 2 positions: one in Busan, one in Changwon. Busan looks like more fun to me, but it's "hard tellin', not knowin' " as they say where I am from. The Changwon position has a little better pay.
What does Dave's ESL Cafe have to say? |

Changwon. Busan is only 30 - 40 minutes away by bus (costs about $2.00). Changwon is smaller and less crowded (only 1/2 million peple there, so it's considered a "small" city...), it's easier to get around, cleaner, more green space, it has a much closer-knit foreigner community, and you can get just about anything you need there anyway. Just make sure you'll be working for a good hagwon... |

Cash is King - plus you will spend less in Changwon and can still visit Busan or Daegu on the weekends. |

Changwon has everything Busan does except for the beach(which sucks the big one anyway), the nightlife and good western food. I can just rock up to Busan on the weekends as its pretty close and there is a pretty close-knit foreigner commiunity in Changwon but I haven't found this in Busan. I think the reason for this is that there is only 1 foreigner bar in Changwon but many to choose from in Busan. Just fill us in on what hagwon it is and I'll see if I can find out about it. |
