Possible explanation.

When I'm translating from Korean into English I often highlight the Korean sentence and then type over it in English. I've noticed that the sentence typically doesn't include the period and I often end up with two periods because I reflexively type one. At the end of the process I go through and clean then up.

While we're on the topic, what's with the habit of not putting spaces after punctuation in Korea? I've never seen this anywhere else, by I can't get my writing classes to bother with spacing!

No doubt the same guy or gal who came up with the idea of using only one parenthesis in telephone numbers: 032) 343-XXXX.
