A few years ago a friend of mine got the V-job done in Korea. Everything was fine.
Then last year he got it undone and now his wife is pregnant.
It's not really a big deal. You get to lie around in bed for a week.
So what if it feels like you've been repeatedly kicked in the jewels.
Be tough and enjoy the pain.
Beats the hell outta having little red screaming things crawling around. |

The operation of Epilidyno-vasotomy was introduced by Martin in 1902. The technique of the operation bears a close resemblance to the same operation by the name of Vaso-epididmostomy, as described by Phadke in 1953. Later to be known as Epididymectomy.

The practice of male genital mutilation is far older than recorded history. Certainly, it is far older than the Biblical account of Abraham (Genesis 17). It seems to have originated in eastern Africa long before this time.6 http://www.cirp.org/library/history/
So, if circumcision is thousands of years old...and vasectomies are about 100 years old...then I feel it's pretty safe to say...

And I also know that the average male lifespan is 63.5 years.
So knowing now that vasectomies have been around for about 40 years longer than the average man's lifespan, how much longer do you suggest we wait before it's safe to get one? |

I think a man has about 7 years after a vasectomy to have it undone, after that the rates of a successful reversal drop significantly.
It is a much less intrusive method of birth control than tubal ligations, which run far bigger risks of infection and complications for women afterwards. |

I had it done about 10 years ago in the US. The procedure is pretty simple and recovery is a day or two. If you want any information let me know.
Since then I've been married once and divorced and now married again. My second wife (who is Korean) wants kids, so we are thinking about adoption. |

The OP used the words "guarantee" which reminded me of a friend who had a third child immediately following her husband's vasectomy.
Do look up the words "vasectomy failure" on Google, and make sure you know what the odds are. |

the bum,
I don't remember much about the procedure itself because it was so long ago, so maybe someone else can answer that one.
Yes, you general do a test afterward that confirms the procedure was successful. |

hahaha. i know what the odds are. the reason i asked about semen analyses is because after a vasectomy, sperm can remain in the downstream portion of the vas deferens for up to 20-30 or more ejaculates, or for up to a month or two. that's probably why they got a third child... |

| It's straightforward mate........................go to the docs and point at your nads and (using your hands to make an X) say loudly 'Anniya '. When he looks at you with a face of a chicken looking down a bottle repeat .....' Can you whip me plumbing out mate ' ?. If all else fails drop around my place with a bottle or 6 of soju and I'll relieve you of your wedding tackle....(sure there's a market for weygook sweetmeat somewhere). |

1- To be honest, I don't know. They had a "privacy" screen set up on my stomach, so I could only see the doc's head, and feel the pinpricks of the anasthetic needle. I imagine it was the no-scalpel method (scapel for the incision, but not for the snip).
2- Yep. Got it done at the same hospital. I went to the one down the hill from the Rocky Mountain Tavern in Itaewon. Can't recall the name offhand. |

It's not a difficult operation....takes little time...and you can walk out right after it's finished. I joked with the doctor while he did it. Very little pain...and highly educational at that!!
Mind the doctor's directions to do nothing strenuous. I know a guy who went home and hung wallpaper...then spent the next two days suffering for it. Go home...relax....get horizontal...unfortunately...you may wnat to do that part alone....
It's certainly an easier way than the doctor carving into your wife in an operation that is invasive...and will pt her out of commission much more so.
She'll truly remember you...and appreciate you....for how you saved her from having to undergo the hysterectomy |
