This was before National insurance was mandatory; I had private insurance at the time, and they would have re-imbursed me after the fact. Never did put in my bills, though. I think I paid less than 250,000 total, for all the pre-op consultations, the op, and the post-op test. |

| The thing about a vasectomy, an old boss of mine told me, is that the kids you already have don't go away. |

That's why, like me, you have it done BEFORE the first kid. |

I got the non scapel one...in Incheon about 2 years ago now. Cut a little hole...took one stitch and that came out in a day or two...and just a little pain.
I never went back for the semen test. Never got around to it...we haven't had any more kids so I guess it's working.
I got it when it was still covered by national insurance. It is off the books now I believe so I don't know how much it would cost today. |

Has anyone gotten this procedure done in Bundang? I can even go to Seoul, but figure the closer I get it done to home would make things more comfortable on the ride home.
Does anyone recommend a clinic, how much you paid, and if the doctor spoke English?
Thanks in advance. |

Ha!
I had a vasectomy. Actually, they had to operate on me 3 times.
The first time, it got infected. Yes, infected. So, they opened it up again to clean it.
The second time ended, but I failed the sperm test. Apparently, they didn't even do the real surgery correctly.
so, I underwent the surgery a third time.
After that, I was ready to ask for a refund.
I got it done at one of those "male specialty" clinics. what a nightmare. I went to a "made for man (매디포만)" clinic. It is a chain clinic around the peninsula that specializes in these kinds of male-only surgeries, so I thought they wouldn't screw it up. And I mistakenly believed it was so simple they could not screw it up.
THey also used stitches, went in the old-fashioned way. Apparently, smarter people do it through a very tiny hole. But, I had to have 4 stitches. What kind of idiots ....
My advice is to treat it like a major surgery, considering the importance of the operation!! Go to a decent hospital, not a clinic, to avoid my nightmare.
And my balls hang at different heights now. Fantastic!! |

| I'm having buyer's remorse, believe me. I had mine done at a clinic in Bundang and it misprescribed penicillin when I'm allergic to it. After a lot of swelling, I went to SNU Hospital Bundang and had an ultrasound. They said the problem was an inflamed spermatic duct on the right side, but I'm having major swelling on the left side and it turned purple today. I'm taking Cipro like SNU Hospital prescribed, but I'll check it out in the morning and see if I need to go get a third opinion somewhere. |

Hi, EZE, nice to meet you.
Welcome to the club! Sounds like a real charmer.
I heard they don't give money back for mistakes and you can't sue them, though, so I wish you good luck in simply finding a resolution. |
