I used to have a book called English Through Drama. It was a nice way of spending some lessons using activities from the book.
Anybody seen a copy online or know of a website with decent drama based resources for ESL teaching.
So anybody have a digital copy of the book or know where to get one or another online resource? |

I'd be very interested, too. This year I'm also the drama teacher at my school. So far it's been a lot of fun but if there are specific teaching methods for EFL through drama I'd love to read about them. |

YBS,
comes out fine for me. Unfortunate. Email me your address by PM and I'll send it direct. The pdf file is a little "light" but if you print it on a good printer, it will be more than good......

You're welcome Cosmos, as you know, "we are the world".
I started into this just hoping to help a few teachers who I knew and who needed help. Then it grew and grew. .
The thing I like about the new technology is two fold.
1). It allows real democratic sharing, dissemination of ideas and creativity.
2.) It frees the classroom. Students can go home and reuse the teacher's materials. The teacher in a sense, opens up and relieves the pressure of power and the student gains by seeing how in control they really are, of their own learning....
Teachers should almost as a law, have their materials/thoughts/ideas accessible to students after the lesson. just because a door closes does not mean life stops. Learning is embedded in life, not linked (to use an IT analogy)...
So you're welcome. I guess in a sense I am trying to commit suicide

thanks for the material. I have just been given a new project at work and i think this stuff will be helpful.
As for drama resources, what level are you teaching? From amazon you can order some great books of drama games which help with ESL learning a lot, use them everyday |

There was an article in English Journal (a publication affiliated with NCTE, a US based English teacher professional group) about teaching ESL kids through drama in the States. If you can get access to the periodical through a library, it seems like it could work in programs abroad as well. If anyone is interested, I can go locate specifics. I remember it being a good read. |
