Weeknight drinking is out of the question for me. If I drink locally, my boss usually finds out and if I go downtown, I usually don't get home until four. My only option is soju in the apartment by myself which isn't that much more. |

I usually have 2 nights a week. One is on Wednesday night or called the Hump night(you know over the hump), and the other is on either a Friday or a Saturday. Sometimes I do both nights but I find this to be too expensive or a waste of my weekend, but being the alcoholic that I am...
whatthefunk..so what if your boss finds out. I thought drinking is in the Korean blood. I have a boss where if I break my leg it would be expected of me to come to the hagwon but if I'm hungover its OK. |

Thursday.
I guess it doesn't so much apply to Korea 'cause most of us don't start work until mid-afternoon. But the logic always was if you didn't get any sleep or got really rat faced you only had to struggle through one day until the weekend. |

for me its wednesday night. Its after a long day of bratty kids, so I usually could use a drink. Secondly, I only have one (and from time to time zero) class on Thursday, which starts at 5 pm. |

I'm going out tonight, but then I haven't been out to have a drink in well over a month. That's married life + working 50 hours a week for ya. . . .
Tonight (Tuesday) is good because I don't have any classes tomorrow morning; the only other day that this happesns is Sunday. |

Its just a little unnerving when you go into work and your boss knows what you were doing last night, who you were with, and how late you were out. Id just rather avoid all that and save my cash... |

It's none of his business what you do in your free time. As long as your drinking does not hinder your performance on the job he should not have to worry.
As for the topic. I work 4 days a week, so I have a 3 day weekend to do what I please. I sometimes go out Friday night, but most of the time it's Saturday for me. |

She shouldn't worry, but she does. I live in a little tiny town and Im supposed to be perfect and represent the hagwan at all times. Any mistake I make is immediatly known throughout town. Students have left for less.. |

In Gwangju where I live, I find Sunday night is one of the best nights to be out. The only better night is Saturday night. People party here in Gwangju on Sundays.... I think it is because friends do a lot of meetings on Sunday and then head out for some drinks or the nite clubs. I see more women out on Sunday night than I do on Saturday night, or at least early, (12ish 1ish). I find Saturday night is busy until 6 or 7 in the morning, but on Sundays about 2 AM things really quiet down. Monday has to the be worst day for heading in Gwangju. Tuesday Wednesday, Thursdays seems Ok, friday is usually a bit busy, but nothing like Saturday and Sunday nights.

I know I said monday nights suck to go out on, but out of the shear fact that I don't have any class on tuesday morning or afternoon (this semester only), Monday night is becoming a night to grab a beer and talk to the bartenders. (I think I need a new hobby. )
Really any night is good here in Korea. |

I sometimes go out mid week with my workmates to the bar in my building because it's close.
