It's now a big news in UK that a British Nova teacher was murdered in Japan, the body of Ann Hawker was found in bathtub and police is looking for a Japanese man Tatsuya Ichihashi....
5 years ago another British girl Lucy Blackman was murdered by a Japanese man and a male American ESL teacher was beaten on street by a Japanese gang, pulled into their car and beaten to death inside.
I've also heard Canadian ESL teacher was murdered in Thailand a few years ago and similar incident happened in China too.
Any ESL teacher in korea ever murdered ??? |

Last year someone told me about a Canadian professor at a university in Seoul who was banging one of his students who just happened to be married. Evidently the husband found out and went to the school to confront the guy and supposedly the hubby got a beatdown. Apparently a gang of his friends waited for the prof one night, grabbed the prof, threw him in the trunk of the car and took him up to a mountain somewhere and killed him.
I don't know when this purportedly took place, but I never saw anything on the news or internet about it. |

I'm skeptical. But wait... A Canadian in Seoul? Yeah, the story checks out. |

What about that one woman who was murdered by her coworker at a yogwan one night a few years back. The coworker was lesbian or bi and came on to the first woman, got rejected, and killed her. She fled Korea but was extradicted back here and convicted of murder?
Don't have the link, though. |

Yes, there has been murders of foreigners in Korea. This woman however was not a teacher, but an exchange student. Here is the link - http://www.courttv.com/room_103/chapter_one/index.html
Very interesting story. This murder happened in 2001. Her friend was just released and the charges dropped about her back in April.
There was also a murder of a US solider in Itaewon around the same time, with a homeless person stabbing him in the chest in a randon attack. This was also around 2000-2001. |

1998, Suncheon: a foreign English teacher was stabbed to death in school, in front of his class. The attacker was a crazy drunk who had lost his job during the IMF financial crisis. Apparently, he was upset that the dirty furriner had a job while he was out on his a$$. |

I remember this story, was such a horrific event..
was huge press about that story in korea for years..
there have been many murders of foriegners and foreigners who have committed murders in korea..
the burger king in Itaewon where that guy was stabbed to death like 20 times! in the bathroom..
the numerous hookers who have been murdered on the hill, found in some terrible serial killer like positions!
servicemen who have killed their korean wives and children in korean, some simple kills, others twisted serial killer like ones..
good thing about korea is they dont report every killing, so it keeps korea with a pure image..
fact is there are SICK people everywhere..
ive heard of plenty of suicides from English teachers.. but murders?
I dont know, I try not to read about murders freaks me out..
especially after I saw crime scene photos of koreans murdered by foreigners back in 97 on a bbs.. those servicemen who killed those people in thos photos are SICK!! very SICK!!
netscape had them posted back in 97 on there bbs.. |

I remember this one....
Kenzi Snider first confessed that she killed her friend, but later in court room she denied, her parent were with her all the way and when she was acquitted, she cried.....
I think she killed her friend.

I had just finished a private class in Hannam dong when I walked past the Yeogwon where it happened and I noticed some westerners wearing blue jackets with the acronyms (FBI) in it, I thought it had something to do with a murder involving a GI or something (There were even signs on-base to ask for info and anyone who knew about it to contact CID immediately), fast forward a year or so and that was when I found out it was done by a fellow classmate who was bi or something.
Coincidentally, that yeogwon was the same place I had "an encounter" a few nights before...eerie!!!! |

I'm convinced that that would have a rather large affect on the number of foreigners believed to have been murdered in this country.
Heck, I would think a lot of Korean probably don't know the murder rates too well. |
