Have you shipped a DVD from the USA to Korea? Was there a duty/fee? How long did it take?
I'd like to buy some Bluray DVDs. I know I can sell them here after I get tired of them. There isn't a very big selection of Korean bluray disks, but the great thing about them is that Korea is in the USA region for bluray movies. Ones I've seen already come with Japanese and Korean encoded on them...
Heck, I'd just sell them on auction after I'm done. |

I think you're addicted to things that are new. There's no way watching a blu-ray disk on a 32 inch screen is 1 million won more of an experience than watching a free download on my crappy laptop.
But, just to add a note of not thinking about my own interests into this thread, what's the difference between importing a normal DVD and a blu-ray DVD into Korea legally?
A film with a crispier image doesn't make it a better film...
I'm a big fan of radio right now. |

ive bought dvds from amazon, well that was 7 years ago when torrents and downloading films was the norm..
it took about 7 days.. and there was no duty, but the package was opened and taped up with customs tape, not the actually DVD plastic.. just the amazon box it came in.. |

I ordered sheet music from Amazon. The sheet music book is only 19 pages and $10. The cheapest shipping was $20. Not expedited, so I can expect the book to arrive between April 26th and May 10th. |

FYI, mine is 42", and the Korean ladies will go for a 42" HDTV over a 42" SDTV any day.
It's one of those, "Don't knock it 'til u try it" things.

I've had lots of Amazon orders shipped to Korea with no problem. Go for it. |

Well, that's a judgment value. However, I could make a pretty convincing case that watching videos on my 100 inch display is definitely worth an extra million won over the course of my projector's lifetime. |

Thundar, I'm sure i'll still get a projector some day, and end up sticking my 42" LCD back in the bedroom.
Really, BR on a projector must be awesome. |

Hey,
I've shipped a lot from Amazon to South KOrea. As a matter of fact, I had to order my new textbooks for next semester and guess where I purchased them? Yep, Amazon. The first one got here within 4 business days. The other 2, I had sent to my sister's house in Florida as she is sending me a care package and figured it would be easy enough to throw the stuff in there. |

I remember reading that books are something they're supposed to add a duty to! |

Yep. I have a multi-zone DVD player, so no worries. It's very fast and efficient.
I'd recommend getting a mailbox service, though - rather than relying on packages finding their way to a street address in Korea. |

It has something to do with why we only have a limited selection of English teaching books, too. There are controls on this. |
