Has anyone had bad experience quitting from public school jobs? I heard many bad stories about quitting from Hagwons, and the general advice is that if you wanna quit you don't tell them because otherwise they will screw you over. I wonder if it's the same for public schools?

When quitting a hagwon the main concern is that you are costing them revenue. Unless you were a bad teacher. When quitting a public school job the main concern is to allow them to save face. As long as you allow them to save face then it is ok. You shouldn't have any problems, I have never heard anyone say they had problems quitting because there are so few teachers who leave for no good reason.

I know some people who've done it. In all cases it wasn't too big a problem for the ones who put in 30 days notice to get a LOR and leave on reasonable terms.

I've wondered about this--my Public school contract says "absolutely no LOR" will be issued for any reason. I am finishing my contract, but have seen some people stuck in bad situations even in PubSch. I wonder what their recourse is should they want to continue teaching.
