I can't believe what I'm watching right now. The teacher who is in control of students just full out slapped this kid 2 times in the face, grabbed his hair and kneed him in the stomach. He's been yelling at this kid for about 5 minutes now and the vice principal isn't doing anything.
OMG..now he slapped him again and punched him in the face....The teacher is a big guy and is humiliating the hell outta this student. This was all for fighting with another student |

| If you had have recorded the incident on your handphone there could have been a repeat of that incident near Suwon a few years back. How old was the kid, btw? |

I think he's in either 2nd or 3rd grade middle school. My phone is a piece of crap and I have never recorded any video with it, though I wish I had. I've heard about violence in school being tolerated, but how can a guy, who's maybe 160 cm and 90kg with a really athletic build just full out slap someone 3 times across the face as hard as possible and punch them in the face? He kneed him in the stomach at least twice and kicked him as well. I'm not sure what's going on cuz he's gone, as are the students.
I actually liked the teacher and he's always been really friendly with me, but I have lost all respect for him and don't plan on talking to him anymore. Even when I had a 3rd grader (elementary school) spit on me, I never hit him, even though I felt like it. I am in complete shock right now and still can't believe what just happened |

That's disgusting! It's not punishment, but abuse. I can't believe no one is saying anything. I'm sorry you have to see that.

I don't think I could control my temper in that situation. What side would the law be on if you went on and punched the teach?

Sounds like a pretty intense situation. The educator in me will say that violence against students is never acceptable, but if this kid was bullying or picking on another child the vigilante in me says good for the kid.
Bullying is such a serious problem and I find it sad that these kids are'nt protected in an environment where they should feel safe. Two kids just going at it... I would say the teacher is way out of line. If one was bullying the other, I would say its about time that little brat got a taste of what it feels like to be helpless and at the mercy of a stronger individual.

The other teachers that are in the room right now seemed to turn a blind eye towards what was happening. Even after 2 teachers tried to get the teacher to calm down, he still attacked the student.
I can't even stand looking at the teacher right now.
I wish I could have done something, but who am I to get in the middle of Korean politics? I have never seen anything like this, and all the other teachers didn't seem to really care too much what was going on. EVen though the vice principal was about 5 meters away, he wasn't even looking at what was going on.
WTF!? Now the student is standing next to the teacher apologizing. This is seriously a backward society at times |

I don't condone bullying in any way. But, the sort of punishment being given out by the teacher to the bully is over the top by any standards.
Who is to say that the bully won't go back to the victim or another poor soul and do to him what the teacher just did to him?
Violence breeds more violence.

Yeah thats the way the argument goes. I imagine it's quite often true that violence begets violence but there is also a very huge self preservation instinct in human beings as well.
There was one particularly nasty bully in middle school back in Canada. Shamefully I will admit we ignored his actions most of the year until he really bloodied one of our friends. One day we all jumped him after school. He was a model student after that. We made it quite clear that if he touched another student we would get him again.
I'm all for avoiding violence and, whenever possible, surely an adult does not need to resort to inflicting pain on a child but to say that violence ONLY begets more violence might be a tad incorrect. I know it bought a few of the weaker kids in our school a couple semesters of relief.
Oh I hear that students are slipped extra cash to pay special attention to some students. Do you think that kid might have pick a fight with the wrong boy?

Again, the hypocricy of hitting someone for hitting someone is really bad. I would have intervened myself, but not violently. What would punching the teacher teach the child anyway, that violence is a good way to solve things? |
