Yep, the cherry blossoms are pretty much done...the leaves started falling off the trees here in changwon (just next door) a couple of days ago so by tomorrow there won't be much left..... |

Man... why do they fall off so quickly down there? Up here near Seoul they're still going strong. |

The thing is the sprout their buds a week or so here before they do in Seoul so logically the fall of a week earlier....It is a good 2 or 3 degrees warmer here on average in march, April and may than it is in Seoul |

Sometimes more. We've already had our first 20 C day and the forecast for Saturday is 21-22 C !
Some parts of the south don't get any snow on the ground all winter long. This shocks some waygooks who aren't aware of the temperature and weather differences.
BTW, yellow sand storms? I don't see or feel them down here, ever. But my friend who rides a motorbike does experience them at high speeds.
Cherry Blossoms peaked at the end of March here in the Hadong area:

Cuz people shake the branches of the trees then quickly rush to take a picture as the flower pedals are falling down. As this never often gives the desired effect in one shot, they shake the tree until it's bare!! |
