So the girlfriend and I are thinking of heading to Moscow when we finish our contract...I'm scouring the net to find out how to get a Russian visa, but everything I read is slightly different. I've been told that I probably have to travel to the Russian embassy in Seoul (I live in Daegu) which will not be possible on a weekday. Has anyone on here ever obtained a Russian tourist visa? If so, what did you need? i.e., travel itinerary, sponsorship, etc. Can you mail away for the visa?
Hopefully someone knows and can save me a trip to Seoul.

cheers.

I think they can take care of the invite too- but really it is just cheaper to order the "letter of invitation" online and then have kangsan just process the rest ( i think- but they may be just as cheap). the invite should cost like about 20 dollars.

There is a consulate in Busan, walking distance from Busan Station. You can not mail in your passport, but they will accept it from a messenger.

visatorussia.net is one online place. Pay online and they fax to you. there are also a few Korean touragencies who will print up a "letter of invitation" for you for about 25000 won.

Total needed (for either the Seoul embassy or busan consulate):

Application
Passport
Letter of invitation/ voucher (they come together - keep copies for yourself)
2 pictures
fee (last I heard was 130000 for a week, more for a quicker turnaround)

Quite simple, actually, if you put in a little effort. They are closed Wednesdays and have very limited hours on MTTF.

Look me up in Moscow, I'll buy you a beer.
