|

I'm being considered for a job in a Korean public school and my recruiter tells me the school wants, among other things, a "Criminal Clearance check issed by police department"
Anybody have any experience on getting that...i.e. just call the police department? And ask for.....what? I didn't know they issued 'checks' like that.
They also want a 'medical check'. I guess that really doesn't have to be too elaborate a thing either, right? The type of thing I could get at one of the 'medi-clinics' that abound around here in Houston?
If I can pull all this together, I'll be going to Namyangju. I read here on the board that it's not the social capital of Korea but....at least it's a start for me and will give me a springboard to move 'up' next year. And I can still get into Seoul and other places (when I'm looking for a place to salsa dance) right?
Thanks.

I went to the website for the state police, printed out a request form, had it notarized at the local UPS office and mailed it in with a self addressed stamped envelope and $25.
About 10 days later, this piece of paper arrived with hardly anything on it except the words "No Record" and a state police stamp.
I haven't heard anything back from my recruiter, so I'm assuming it was what they needed. |

Just go to the police station and ask to have your criminal record check printed out and get it signed by one of the officers.
I believe you can also go to a court house and get it printed and signed by the clerk. |

I went to the country (e.g. Harris Country), 1201 Travis, downtown. I got it there. I was worried that a missed traffic court appearance would show up but an attorney friend of mine said the two databases (1) weren't linked and (2) traffic stuff was in a different class of offense anyway.....so 'screw 'em'. Which I did. No I gotta get aa cheap medical exam or check. I'm thinking they just want something to validate that I'm not 'walking wounded'...right? |
