| In a welcome move from the industry, Pioneer has unveiled their BDC-S02 combo drive - a low cost alternative for those looking to playback Blu-ray discs on their PC without the added cost of purchasing a burner. The combo drive will play Blu-ray movies, as well as read any stored information off of BD-ROM, BD-R, and BD-RE discs (both single and dual layer). |

Nice to see. Hopefully that'll be included in my new build next year. Heck, the price might even be close to something I'd splash out for a new drive!

This is good news. I want the burners to become cheaper, and they will of course. I remember when I got my new 386, I got a cd burner for $1000 dollars. The friends and I thought it was amazing. The Pioneer gold disks cost 20 bucks each at that time. |
