|
|
My recruiter has received my documents and I will begin work on May 7th, in Anyang.
Visa issuance will be around April 27th, and then we will agree when I fly out to South Korea.
I have some very quick questions. I get hayfever/nasal drip/rhinitis which means since last summer almost every day I feel like I need to clear my throat regularly.
The good news is I use a steroid-based nasal spray which controls it. I appreciate this is not a pharmacy forum, but can you get these sprays in S. Korea?
I also have mild eczema on my hands, I use hydrocortisone cream for that, can you get this cream in S.K.?
Lastly, I am going to buy a laptop from the U.K. I apologize in advance because I've read lots of threads on this forum about this already. I'm asking this because I am extremely ignorant on all things electrical.
Do I need just an adaptor for this when I arrive in S.K. or do I need anything else? I went to a shop here in the U.K. which sells the laptop I want, the guy I spoke with is from India, he said all I would need is an adaptor, because he brings his laptop to the U.K. and uses an adaptor, I think that's what he said.
Here's the laptop I'm going to get:
The Acer AS5633 laptops come with Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 Processor (1.68GHz) and 667MHz, 2MB Cache plus 1GB RAM. Storage is not a problem with the 80GB hard drive and it comes with a DVD Super Multi Dual Layer Drive. The display is a 15.4″ TFT Widescreen, and as said above it comes pre-installed with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. It also has the 224MB Intel 950 GMA Graphics.
Thanks for your help.
I am looking forward to coming to Anyang. |

Whoops, I forgot, I read on this forum some people had difficulty getting adaptors for their laptops in Anyang, so is it easy to get adaptors in Anyang? |

Laptops are designed to run on either 110 or 220. I just have a 50 cent plug adapter that fits over the north american plug. |

Go see a chinese med doctor for the eczema and hay fever... they are pretty easy to cure..get a list of the herbs used and bring it here.... those creams and sprays are useless and only mask it.... BUT I'm sure you can get it here..Koreans are prescription crazy |

Hydrocortisone cream is available here. It's called the same thing, only with a Korean accent. I've never had trouble buying it. |

Your laptop won't need an adapter, just you'll have to go to an electronics store with your laptop, show them your cord doesn't fit into a wall socket here, and they'll give you the correct kind of cord. It'll cost you about 2 dollars American, unless they give it to you free, like they did to me.
Since laptops have a power range from like 110-220 volts you're more than fine! |

When it comes to the adaptor plug/cord, you can buy that in the UK before you leave. Any large electronics store there (Maplins is probably your best bet, or Comet/Currys) should have it. It's the same round two-pin cord/plug used in most of Europe. |
