My suitcase was FAR too heavy on the way over to Korea, and both picking-up handles (does that make sense? not the metal pulling handle but the other ones for lifting) broke. not helpful. Where can I get my suitcase fixed? I tried the shoe-fixing men but they looked at me like I was crazy.

Not sure about Daegu, but there are plenty of cheap suitcase places in Seoul. Try the streets by Dongdaemun stadium. New suitcases are 10,000 and up.

I have seen places that will fix suitcases here in Seoul, so I could guess there would be one in Daegu as well. You just have to keep your eyes open when your walking around. Bibbybop is right, you can get a new suitcase cheap. On the other hand, if there's only one minor thing wrong, it might be cheaper to just get it fixed.

One of the wheels on the bottom of my small suitcases was destroyed when I went home 2 1/2 years ago. Other then that, it's in good shape. It has sentimental value since it was my dad's so it's worth to hold on to it. My other larger suitcase was destroyed by United *those bastards* when I came over and I'm going to replace that one.

I bought crappy made in China suitcases at Walmart a few years back. They're falling apart.

Total shot in the dark, but I'd recommend taking your suitcase down to the luggage and outdear gear vendors in Gyodong Market and ask for the whereabouts of a 수리공 (soolee-gohng; repairman) and point to your suitcase handle issue. There's all sorts of odds and sod vendors down there that should be able to help you out. Just don't go on a Sunday.

I seen a new large suitcase for only 25,000 won in an underground subway market of Busan last Saturday. I wondered how well it would hold up with many airline trips though. It looked good.
