Hagwons? Not that I know of. Guess public schools will take it off. |

Well, I'm expecting nice gifts from my hagwon students.
It's worth not having a day off. |

Really, what sort of gifts are you anticipating, if I may be so bold as to acquire? |

My students are adults so I'm expecting lots of gift certificates. |

My public school has 7th, 15th and 26th off this month (inservice day, teacher's day and Budda's bd).
As for gifts, my first year when I was at a hogwan I got showered with gifts. The last couple of years I didn't get anything. Unfortunately because I work in a public school I'm not allowed to except gifts if they are offered. |

No students on teacher's day, but I'm going in. And Milwaukiedave, thanks - I was also spoiled at the hagwon and wondering if I should expect anything from the ms students. I won't take it personally now when I get squat. |

Actually you are expected to except them. You're just not allowed to accept them, is all.
Hope this clears things up |

OOHHHHHH, c'mon! Okay that was funny - I edited that and spliff's malapropos 'aquire' out of my post 'cause tonight is clearly get-drunk-Monday (at least at my place it is - and it started at school). |

To get around this have them offer the gifts on another day... |

The only holiday we have off this month is May 24. Does anyone know what holiday taht is.
We don't get teacher's day off, but we are getting May 25th off to make a long weekend, which is much better anyway. Someone turned on the logic machine! |
